Android Key Lime Pie 4.2 launching on October 29th?

Android Key Lime Pie may be a mouthful to say but what it'll bring to the rumoured LG Nexus 4 Smartphone is a whole host of new features to combat iOS 6

Google are set to unveil Android Key Lime Pie at their event in New York. The updated Android 4.2 is set to be unleashed on new Google Nexus devices on October 29th according to reports.

The Next Web has sources that have revealed that alongside the updated version of Android there will be a variety of new devices introduced including a new Nexus smartphone and a Retina Display-rivalling 10-inch tablet made by Samsung.

Key Lime Pie is part of Google’s drive to compete with Apple’s operating system and is expected to come with a new panoramic camera mode including both horizontal and vertical movement that is similar to iOS 6 and an updated version of Google Now.

The LG Nexus 4 is also rumoured to be launched in New York with a 1.5 Ghz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2GB RAM, a 1280-by-768 pixel display, 16GB storage, an 8-Megapixel rear facing camera and a 2100mAh battery.

The Nexus 4 has been extensively leaked by several sources over the last week or so and is almost certain to be the new Nexus smartphone.

Google are also expected to update their Nexus 7 tablet to include 32GB storage and may also include a variant with 3G or 4G connectivity.

The most exciting news must be reports of a 10.1-inch Samsung tablet with a better than Retina Display beating 300 pixels-per-inch. The Samsung built tablet will have a 2560x1600 pixel display which would be identical to the rumoured resolution of the new 13-inch retina MacBook Pro and a higher resolution than the third-generation retina iPad.

T3 will have the latest coverage of everything that Google unveils on Monday 29th October.
