Asus PadFone 2 release set for tomorrow

With the Asus PadFone 2 release date now confirmed all eyes will be on how Asus have been able to improve on the smartphone and tablet hybrid

The new PadFone 2 is set to be unveiled by Asus on Tuesday 16th October in Milan. The successor to the original PadFone it will apparently pack a Quad-core 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM to make it one of the most powerful smartphones to date.

There have been rumours of other phones matching the power of the new PadFone 2 but they have yet to be released in the UK, so smartphones such as the LG Optimus G and Nexus 4 will have to come out after Asus have bagged a bit of coup with their new device.

The PadFone 2 will also reportedly pack a 13-Megapixel camera and LTE connectivity and a new teardrop shape alongside the 4.7inch 720p HD display, a step up in both size and resolution on the original device.

There is no word on the how the tablet dock will shape up compared to the previous model however the new design allows the PadFone 2 to slide into the tablet dock front-facing in a much more natural looking and elegant design than the overcomplicated hinged compartment of the original.

Asus have just come off a hot run of success with the Transformer Prime Android tablets and the Google Nexus 7 and bagged four T3 2012 awards recently.
