Samsung's phone/tablet hybrid hits our shelves today to prove, once and for all, that bigger is always better
The new and highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy note 2 goes on sale today across the UK at around the £500 mark, with Vodafone offering price plans from £33.50 on contract, or just £299 on pre-pay.
Why should you be excited about Sammy's new monolith? Well, it boasts an impressive 1.6Hz quad-core processor, and runs Android’s latest 4.1 ‘Jelly Bean’ OS.
The 16, 32 or 64 GB native storage stands alongside 2GB RAM (just like its tablet sister the Note 10.1), and then there's that all important microSD compatability as well.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is loaded with an 8-megapixel auto-focus camera, with an LED flash and BSI (back illuminated sensor) and is capable of full HD (1080p) playback and recording.
Viewing media on the phone is a pleasure on its massive 5.5’’ HD Super AMOLED display, and there are plenty of special features including S-Beam, the company’s own Siri. Of course, the S-Pen stylus is along for the ride and has been given a larger and more comfortable design.
